MariaDB® Expands Veteran Leadership Team with New Vice President of Marketing

Award-Winning Executive to Bring Industry Expertise to Expand MariaDB’s Global Presence

San Francisco and Helsinki, April 9, 2015 – MariaDB Corporation, a leader in open source database solutions for high availability, scalability and performance, today announced the addition of Patty Nghiem as vice president of marketing. Patty brings years of experience in fast-paced, high-growth technology companies to an already impressive leadership roster that includes Roger Levy, vice president of products and former vice president and acting GM of public clouds at HP; Dion Cornett, vice president of global sales and former vice president of sales strategy and North America sales at Red Hat, and Steve Grandchamp, vice president of North American sales and former CEO of Open Logic.

As vice president of marketing, Ms. Nghiem is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and reports to MariaDB CEO Patrik Sallner. She has global responsibility for all facets of marketing and sales development, and will help accelerate MariaDB’s global growth and expanded presence in the U.S., furthering the company’s mission of establishing MariaDB Enterprise as the leading database solution for SaaS and cloud.

Ms. Nghiem has over 20 years of marketing and business development experience and was named to the 2014 CRN Women of the Channel list and the CRN 15 Up-and-Comers list for her work in building channel and alliance relationships. Nghiem most recently served as the vice president of marketing & business development for Dataguise, a big data security provider for Hadoop distributions Cloudera, Hortonworks and MapR. Prior to that, she led global operations at Salesforce for a network of over 5,000 partners. Nghiem has served as vice president of marketing, business development and services at startups to global leaders, including Oracle and Business Objects (now SAP). She holds a degree in computer science from Rice University.
