MariaDB Enterprise Platform, The Unified Open Database

Agents

Bring agents to the data that already runs your business. They get submillisecond access and follow the same security rules as your people.

AI RAG & MCP

Ground agent answers in your live business data. Built-in vector search and RAG find the context, and the MCP server connects agents securely.

Distributed Cache

Agents and apps get submillisecond reads from a speed layer in front of the database, held in memory across nodes and persisted to disk.

High Availability Intelligent Proxy

When a node fails, your applications keep running. The intelligent proxy routes every query, splits reads from writes and handles failover automatically.

Database Engines

Transactional, columnar, semi-structured and vector engines share one SQL core, so apps, analytics and agents all work from the same live data.

Open Source Foundation

Run it anywhere and stay in control of cost and where your data lives. Every layer sits on a curated open source core.

MariaDB Enterprise Platform is a unified, open database platform for transactional, analytical, in-memory and AI workloads. It combines MariaDB Enterprise Server with components for high availability, security, management and AI, backed by 24/7 enterprise support. Organizations run it on premises, in the cloud or in hybrid environments to power mission-critical applications and build agentic AI applications on one trusted platform.

MariaDB Enterprise Platform includes MariaDB Enterprise Server, the core relational database, along with components for availability, analytics, in-memory compute and AI. These include MariaDB Raft Cluster and MariaDB Enterprise Galera Cluster for high availability and replication, the MariaDB MaxScale database proxy, MariaDB Exa for operational analytics, MariaDB GridGain for distributed caching and compute, MariaDB AI RAG, the MariaDB MCP Server, MariaDB Enterprise Manager and the MariaDB Enterprise Kubernetes Operator.

Yes. MariaDB Enterprise Platform is available through MariaDB Cloud, a fully managed service that can run in your own cloud account. You can also self-manage MariaDB Enterprise Platform on any public cloud, on premises or across hybrid and multicloud environments.

MariaDB Enterprise Server is the database itself, a hardened and secured version of MariaDB Server built for production workloads. MariaDB Enterprise Platform is the complete offering built around it, adding components for high availability, database proxying, operational analytics, in-memory compute, observability and AI, along with Enterprise support.

MariaDB Community Server is the wildly popular open source relational database that’s been downloaded over 3 billion times. MariaDB Enterprise Platform adds MariaDB Enterprise Server, a hardened version of MariaDB Server that’s built for production workloads, along with enterprise-only features, platform components for availability, analytics, in-memory compute and AI, and 24/7 Enterprise support. Each MariaDB Enterprise Server release series is also maintained for up to eight years, compared with three years for Community Server, so teams can upgrade less often.

Today, MariaDB is a unified, open database platform for transactional, analytical, in-memory and AI workloads, far beyond its origins as a 2009 fork of MySQL. MariaDB Enterprise Platform brings together operational analytics with MariaDB Exa, distributed caching and in-memory compute with MariaDB GridGain, native vector search, RAG and MCP connectivity for AI agents. MySQL protocols and connectors remain supported, so teams can move existing applications without starting over.

Yes. MariaDB Enterprise Platform includes native vector search built into MariaDB Enterprise Server, so you can store, index and query embeddings alongside relational data in one database. It supports similarity search, hybrid search that combines vector and full-text results, and standard SQL filters in the same query. Integrations with LangChain, LlamaIndex and Spring AI, plus MariaDB AI RAG and the MariaDB MCP Server, help teams build generative AI applications without a separate vector database.
